VP of Engineering Job Description
The VP of Engineering is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating operational activities related to the engineering function.
This individual is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the engineering function and for ensuring that engineering objectives are achieved in accordance with company policies and industry best practices.

VP of Engineering Duties:
- Represent the company by working closely with customers, sales, marketing, and support team, thereby building relationships with key contacts
- Manage the engineering team, including hiring / maintaining top engineers and developers, delegating assignments, and motivating employees
- Work with R&D to develop innovative new products and resolve technical quality issues
- Research new technologies that would benefit the company
- Inspire others with your expertise
- Provide input into strategic direction of the company and products
- Provide input on new product development roadmap
- Establish and maintain client and industry relationships
- Research and identify new market opportunities
- Establish and maintain the company’s financial model
- Provide input on financial forecasting
- Partner with other departments to ensure the success of the company’s products

Requirements And Skills:

- Knowledge of engineering products, processes, and systems; ability to direct technical development efforts; knowledge of manufacturing processes; ability to analyze processes, capabilities, and requirements
