Journeyman Plumber Job Description

Journeyman Plumber Duties:

Journeyman Plumber Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair drainage, catch basins, sump pumps, underground piping, and drainage and sewer systems
• Diagnose and service existing plumbing hardware
• Perform water line work, including pulling new pipes, replacing water mains, and attaching valves
• Plumb and repair gas lines, including laying, testing, installing, adjusting, and repairing gas piping
• Install and repair gas appliances, including furnaces, water heaters, and boilers
• Install water heaters and boilers
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures
• Use hand and power tools
• Drain and vent pipe

Requirements And Skills:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years experience in plumbing work, including drain, toilet, vent, and water heater installations
• Ability to perform plumbing maintenance, including cleaning, greasing, and adjusting
• Ability to operate plumbing tools and machinery, including drain
